Why do we take part in Dragons Abreast? Because it's all about "promoting a message of education, hope and awareness of breast cancer."
And Breast cancer is a real issue in Australia and New Zealand (and around the world)! It's something that should be talked about!
Did you know?
- Each year over 2600 New Zealand women and just over 20 men are diagnosed with breast cancer.
- In 2006, 12 614 women and 102 men were diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia with 2643 deaths.
- 1 in 11 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 75
- Regular self-examination
- Examination by your doctor
- Screening mammograms
The USANA Dragon Boat team will be training on the 10 October, ready for the race on 31 October so if you're in Sydney that day, join us on the Harbour and watch us stroke to the beating of the drum, and raise awareness for breast cancer!
