Team USANA Athlete David McKeon heads to the World Champs!

2015 has been a busy year for Team USANA Athlete David McKeon and it seems the young swimmer still has much more to give!

So far this year, David has finished 2nd in both the 200 and 400 metre freestyle events at the 2015 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships, and at the Japan Open last weekend he won the 400 metre freestyle and placed 3rd in the 200 metre freestyle.

David now has his sights on the FINA World Championship in Russia which will be held in August, where he has qualified to swim at in both the 200 and 400 metre freestyle and the 4x200 metre freestyle relay.

David said he is looking forward to the event as his 2015 goal is to “gain experience racing at the world champs and hopefully get on the podium”.

David currently trains 10 x 2 hour swim sessions, 2 x 1.5 hour gym sessions and one Pilates session a week and says USANA helps him to “keep healthy and to train great without getting sick”. His favourite USANA product is the Health Pak.

So what advice does this inspiring swimmer give to other young swimmers?

“To keep progressing through your training; and to never take a step back as a negative - you always have to have set backs to progress forward.”

We wish David luck at the upcoming World Championships. Stay tuned for more on this swimming star!
