Why USANA is #1?

USANA continues its journey as a leader in the market , with the hard work from Associates and corporate staff. We can say, it is a great time to be with USANA than ever! Why? Because we’ve had another record quarter, and have reached some more amazing milestones.

Nineteen Years and Counting — While other companies have come and gone, USANA stays strong in the industry! Next summer, we will be hosting our 20th annual International Convention in the head office of Salt Lake City. There’s only one year to go before we step into the third decade of our USANA business, can you believe that?

Thailand
— USANA is preparing to enter its 16th international market later this year. Thailand is one of the largest direct-selling markets in the world and entering this market gives us another exciting opportunity to spread the message of true health and true wealth!

ConsumerLab Approval— After being awarded for the ‘Product Excellence’ of Australian Business Awards 2010, USANA Essentials again has passed another essential test from ConsumerLab.com, LLC. ConsumerLab.com is an independent, third-party organisation (based in the U.S.A) that tests the purity, strength, identity and disintegration of health and nutrition products. And the testing verifies the supplements that make up the Essentials meet its strict requirements for ingredient quality and quantity.

Research Partnerships—USANA has partnered with world-renowned research centres, the Linus Pauling Institute (LPI) and The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital (TOSH), in an effort to stay on the cutting edge of nutritional science. These partnerships have helped USANA’s research & development team ensure our products remain among the best available anywhere in the world.

And the list goes on and on … We not only have the legendary WTA partnership, 5-star rating and Gold Medals of Achievement from NutriSearch Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements, but also have a great bunch of management and staff.

The most recent news are:

Dr. Myron Wentz,
the founder of USANA Health Sciences, has been awarded an honorary doctor of science degree (D.Sc) by North Central College.

Marissa Penfold,
Business Manager for USANA New Zealand, has been elected to the executive board of the Direct Selling Association, New Zealand.

David Mulham,
the previous General Manager of USANA Australia and New Zealand, has been appointed USANA Vice President of Pacific Region – Australia, New Zealand and Philippines.

Have to say, yes, we are #1, no matter what health product you are after, or what home-based business you are looking at. And we will continue to be #1. Way to go!

USANA Biz Centre: How to Find Inspiration for Your Home-Based USANA Business

Do you wonder how you're going to make you USANA business a success? Do you think all the great ideas have been taken already? Get fired up for network marketing with some great ideas on where to find inspiration:

Talk to other Associates: Many of our USANA Associates get together to share tips and ideas for network marketing. This can be a great way to get to know like-minded people who can give you the inside scoop on what's working and what isn't.

To find out what’s going on with Associate activities, you could talk to your uplines/downlines or USANA staff. Most of the time, Associates have their own training websites, such as USANA Sydney Associate Events and Super Success Saturday New Zealand. Visit such websites regularly to keep track of any meetings and activities in your area.

Attend USANA events: USANA corporate organise all kinds of events and activities, and you will hear from those successful USANA Associates as well as guest speakers from different walks of life. The Women In Business 2011 tour that (link to the wrap-up blog) finished just a couple of weeks ago is a good example. We received feedback from attendees on how inspiring the event was. You can connect with us on USANA Australia New Zealand Facebook page and keep an eye out for upcoming corporate activities and events.

Read network marketing blogs: There are lots of people online making an impressive income from network marketing, who blog about their ideas and techniques. Blogs from successful USANA Associates, Collette Larsen and Zachary Ross are an excellent example. Also, Jennifer Fong’s blogs deliver good tips on how to use Social Media to help with your direct selling business. Often, network-marketing blogs have more up-to-date info and innovative techniques than books.

Even if the blogger is selling products that have nothing to do with USANA, like vacuum cleaners or pet shampoos, you can adapt their techniques to suit your own business.

Appeal to the five senses: Think of ways to market your products to all of the five senses – how do you get a client to look, smell, feel, taste and hear a product demonstration? Create a more involved and interactive presentation to win new clients.

Go with what works: Remember, the tried and tested methods have been used for years because they're … tried and tested. You don't have to stress yourself out trying to think up new and innovative ideas all the time – sometimes the best thing you can do is exactly what everyone else has done.

Go with your passion: Clients respond to an Associate who is clearly passionate about the products, so focus on the clients and product lines that most gel with your passions. For example, if you're a top athlete, focus on ideas to target this market, rather than trying to appeal to stay-at-home mums.

Read marketing books: Type in "network marketing" in your library search engine and you'll find hundreds of books on how to sell. Choose a few you like the look of and start reading. Keep a pen and paper nearby to jot down ideas. Internet is another good resource for articles and information on network marketing.

Nathan Charles – Hooker for Western Force Visits USANA

Nathan Charles, our newest athlete under the USANA Athlete and Ambassador Program dropped by the USANA office for a friendly visit and to learn more about USANA products.

With USANA Staff and Associate - Kate Gyngell

Nathan is an up and coming Australian Rugby Union player and Super 15 rugby player. He plays Hooker position for Western Force which is one of the sports’ hardest and most physically demanding positions. In 2010, he made it into the Wallabies training squad and is well known for his sensational length of the field run which saw him lead his team to victory against the Crusaders.

What makes this young player’s achievements all the more remarkable is that he was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a potentially fatal disease with no known cure leading him to be chosen as the Ambassador for Cystic Fibrosis Australia.

We asked Nathan about his relationship with USANA….

‘I am thoroughly looking forward to forming a strong relationship with the USANA Team and its product. It is a product that I hope will allow me to achieve my optimum level of performance on and off the rugby field. I am excited about the prospects of what this product can do for me and am also eager to share it with others with whom I feel can benefit from its use.

I believe the team at USANA to be a well balanced, cohesive and knowledgeable unit that will support me in my drive to achieve my goals’.

USANA Biz Centre: Benefits of Social Media

Here at USANA Australia and New Zealand, we love using Social Media to connect with our customers and Associates. You can join the discussion about general health/wellness issues and the USANA business and products on USANA Aus/NZ Facebook or find links to the latest research and updates on our USANA Twitter feed. So it's no surprise we think Social Media can be a huge benefit to your USANA Associate business.

Keep in touch with your audience

Social Media works as an online communication channel with your team and prospects, like your website, but more casual. You can update social media in a jiffy, whereas updating your website might be time-consuming. Customers like being informed of all the latest products, breakthroughs and USANA news, and they might only discover this information by following you on Social Media.

The power of recommendation

If a stranger on the street comes up to you and says "you should try this product!" then you feel a bit wary. But if your best friend says, "I've been using these health products, and they're amazing!" you're much more likely to take notice. Through social media customers can recommend you to their friends, post positive comments about your products, and become emotionally invested in your business. Your customers get the benefit of personal service, and you get more customers, more repeat business and more referrals – and who can complain about that?

Increase your online presence
The more you use social media – and more social media sites you participate in – the more you increase your ability to cross-promote your business and reach a wider audience. And, as more people re-post and re-tweet your links, you increase the traffic of your website, and this helps you rise through the ranks of Google to reach the front page.

Get to know your customers

Social media can also help you with customer service and satisfaction. As users leave comments and "like" links and products, you learn more about who they are and what they like and don't like. Armed with this information, you can improve your business practices.

Help with brand management
Even negative comments can be an opportunity for brand management. If you're clever with wording and quickly and effectively respond to complaints and bad comments, you can turn a negative comment into a loyal customer.

We think social media is one of the best tools network marketers can use – after all, what is network marketing but generating word-of-mouth? Why don't you try social media and see for yourself?

USANA Health Centre: Keep Children fit and Healthy over the School Holidays

With TV, the Internet and gaming consoles on every child's wish list, it can be a real struggle keeping your children fit and healthy over the school holidays. Here are some great ideas for encouraging your children to enjoy their holiday:

Start the Day with a big breakfast: a delicious, healthy breakfast packs them full of energy for the day. Try a bowl of homemade toasted muesli topped with fruit and yoghurt, wholemeal toast with peanut butter, and a piece of fruit and a glass or milk or juice.

When children are outside in the sun, they crave a cold treat. Instead of sugary ice creams and ice blocks, why not make your own ice lollies from fresh-squeezed fruit juices and yoghurt. Simply pour into lolly moulds, add a wooden stick, and freeze.

Take Vitamins:
Most children don't get the nutrients they need from food alone. Try vitamins to keep them bouncy and energized.

Get active: Children learn from watching you, so if you're outside enjoying the sun, they will, too. Encourage games outside, invite other children around the jump on the trampoline, and organise a family walk through a park or local trail.

Join in:
Sport teams are in full swing over the holidays. Now is the perfect time for your child to get involved in a local sports club. Games like rugby, soccer and netball keep your child fit while teaching them to cooperate with others and make new friends.

If your child isn't naturally sporty, encourage them to try other physical pursuits. They might enjoy trapeze lessons, hula hooping or roller-blading, or even dancing to their favourite music videos.

Revisit your childhood:
get outdoors with your children and play your favourite childhood games – Stuck in the Mud, Red Light/Green Light, and Simon Says.

Make time for Family: No matter how busy everyone is, make time for a sit-down meal each night. Cook a healthy dinner and spend time together as a family.

USANA wishes every child a great school holiday!

If You Missed USANA’s Women In Business 2011…

After a highly successful tour in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, USANA's Women In Business 2011 finally wrapped up in Auckland. As a part of the tour, Carmen Marshall’s Diamond Bound Training and Health & Wellness Spa Training has made the entire experience perfect.

Let the result speak for itself – we had heaps of positive feedback from attendees:

“It was wonderful. So well thought out, room was full and everyone enjoyed it. Thanks so much for such a different idea and so professionally produced. It appealed to the smart, elegant woman for sure! Carmen's training earlier was beyond brilliant!! She gave great detail and I for one will be out there running my spas to her formula.”
Anne Noonan, Brisbane

“Thank you for making an effort to bring the Women In Business here in Perth despite all the chaos (flight cancellations). I am now even more confident in my objectives and plans for developing my team. After Carmen’s Diamond Bound training it is now without a doubt that I am on the right track to lead my team.”
Janet Tan, Perth

“It was really valuable and inspiring to meet these successful ladies and know that we are not so different after all, and that with the same determination, honesty, passion, hard work and tenacity they displayed, we can overcome all obstacles and become successful individuals living our dreams! Thanks Carmen, Fiona and Paula for an encouraging and thought provoking evening!”
Naomi van Zyl
, Gold Coast
