Fred Cooper — USANA Achieves Another Record Quarter In Sales!

This is USANA's president speaking. Pay attention. Yesterday I participated in a conference call where we announced that USANA achieved yet another record quarter!

I realize not everyone listens to these investor-type calls. So I thought, what better way to share this exciting news and my gratitude with the masses than to reach out to everyone on the blog? That's right! I'm a blogger now, and I'm looking forward to using this space in the future to share news about USANA.

To kick it off, and as a follow-up to yesterday's call, I wanted to share this video blog with you to thank the people — the Associates and employees — who made it all happen:

Australia Sends New Million Dollar Club members to Home Office

Congratulations to our Australian Associates David Hu and Jenny Xie, who just came back from their unforgettable Million Dollar Day in Salt Lake City Utah, home to our USANA corporate headquarters.

As with other lucky club members, David and Jenny were picked up by a stretch Hummer limousine; escorted by police officers and then welcomed with a deafening applause from USANA management and staff assembled in the lobby. In recognition of their achievement they each were presented with tailored jacket featuring a Million Dollar Club logo proudly embroidered on the chest. They then spent the day speaking with upper management, touring the offices and donning lab coats and sterile suits to see how the USANA products are conceived and created.

Coming from a background as an IT professional, David began his USANA business with Jenny ten years ago. Their business has been going well and steady ever since. In April, they both became members of the Million Dollar Club. The MDC is an elite group of Associates who have throughout the course of their USANA careers, earned at least $1 million (US) in commissions. David and Jenny have committed all their time and energy into their business over the years and it shows, and now they are enjoying the rewards.

We are so happy to see them living their dream and wish them more of the same as their USANA journey continues. For more photos of their Million Dollar Day, please check our Facebook.

Enjoy Spring the Natural Way

For most people, spring means increased energy, outdoor activities, flower blossoms and a lot more. However, for some people, spring can mean allergies.

Common spring allergies include sniffing and sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, coughing, itchy eyes and nose as well as dark circles under the eyes. Apart from over-the-counter medications and prescribed drugs, there are natural ways you can combat these annoying symptoms, keep your immune system strong and start enjoying spring:

  • Wash your hands frequently - not only does good hygiene minimise spring allergies, it also minimises your chance of getting sick.
  • Wash sheets and pillowcases in hot water - allergies and pollens love bedding, so change and wash your sheets regularly. Also vacuum and dust regularly to keep spring allergies at bay.
  • Stick to a healthy diet - make sure you are getting plenty of immune strengthening vitamins, such as Vitamin C and Vitamin D.
  • Keep your digestive system healthy - add probiotics to your diet for a healthy digestive system
  • Exercise regularly - as we all know, having enough physical exercise will keep us on top of our health.

Do you have any tips to keep spring allergies at bay? Please leave a comment.

USANA Australia is Warming up for Dragon Boat Racing

It was a beautiful Sunday morning when the USANA Sydney Dragon Boat Team started their first of many training sessions for the upcoming Dragons Abreast Festival.

The USANA team is made up of corporate staff and Associates and supported by thousands mo
re around Australia who are passionate about making a difference to people's lives. This is USANA's second year to participate in the festival, raising funds to support people with breast cancer. The coaches are amazing women and breast cancer survivors.

Dragons Abreast is a fantastic charity, promoting a message of education, hope and awareness of breast cancer.

What is Dragon Boating?

Dragon boating is simply a boat of 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steers person ("sweep") paddling to cross the finish faster than their competition. It's a team sport in its purest form that encompasses the elements of power, speed, synchronization and endurance. The basic techniques of competitive dragon boating are usually balanced boat set-up, flawless strokes and rhythm.

Thinking about racing a dragon boat? Some useful tips are:
  • Always keep heads up - do not look at paddle
  • Engage muscle from full body rather than just from arms
  • Use full blade to maximise speed
  • Drink enough water - your body lose 15% of performance by dehydration
  • Practice, practice and practice...

The USANA team had a great time at the training session. We are prepared to paddle hard and give our loudest shout to raise the awareness of breast cancer. Leave your message of support below or follow the journey on Facebook.

USANA Supports the Ride to Work Program

Today marks Ride to Work Day, an initiative contributing to cleaner air and better health. USANA Corporate got involved and team members (from left to right); Michael, Brenda, Robbie and Paul dusted off their bicycles and hit the road.

Ride to Work Day is a free program run by independent, not-for profit, Bicycle Victoria. Last year’s event attracted over 95,000 participants across the country, cumulatively travelling 700,207km – that equates to riding around the world 17 times! Statistics show that, five months later 35% of those new riders were still riding to work.

So, what exactly are the benefits of this commuter revolution?

• Health – Keeps you fit, reducing risk of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease
• Save money – Reduces travelling expenses
• Help the planet – Reduces carbon emissions
• More productive – Through improved fitness and mental alertness
• Weight management – Combine with USANA’s RESET program and get ready for summer!

Let us know if you rode to work today by leaving your comments below.

Steve Hooker, athlete extraordinaire jumped to fantastic heights during the Men’s Pole Vault event winning the Gold Medal ahead of England’s Steve Lewis (5.60m). Steve entered the competition with only two competitors remaining and it took him just two clearances at 5.50m and 5.60m to secure the gold medal for Australia. What a champion!

This victory repositions Steve as the only athlete in world athletics to currently hold all five major titles – Olympic Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, World Indoor Championships and World Cup – a feat not yet achieved by any another Australian athlete.

Steve also holds the event record in three of the five major championships, a 5.96m Olympic record (2008), 5.80m Commonwealth Games record (2006) and 6.01m world indoor championship record (2010).His best effort of 6.06m, recorded in Boston in February 2009, sits just one position behind Sergey Bubka’s world record of 6.14m as the Australian, Commonwealth and Oceania records.

This 28 year old had his goals firmly in sight in 2010 and with his kind of determination, he has proved to be unstoppable! USANA is proud to be associated with Steve Hooker and look ahead to seeing more great things from this powerhouse athlete!

Congratulations Collette Larsen!

Collette Larsen is one amazing woman! This year, she came to New Zealand and Australia and wow-ed us all with her enthusiasm, her gorgeous smile and her big heart!

And after reading a blog written by her daughter, Sharlie, we think that Collette deserves another mention.

Collette was recently honoured with the "Breath of Life" award for all her work and passion in the fight to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

Sharlie's guest blog on the Larsen Global blog says it all and so we will defer to her because her mum really is an amazing woman and she deserves this award!

Congratulations to our USANA family member, Collette - you deserve this award! And to your daughter Sharlie, that was a beautiful speech you gave.

USANA's thoughts with those affected by the Christchurch Earthquake

It's great to be able to lend a hand in times of need and we were so glad that we could help those affected by the earthquake in Christchurch.

We really want to thank all of our Associates who donated money to the cause and who donated their gold coins or maybe even a little bit more than their change to help those affected by the earthquake in Christchurch. USANA Corporate matched these donations and together we were able to donate over $1300!

The money that you donated went towards providing blankets, tarpaulins and water containers as well as providing mental health care for those in need.

Being able to do something good is a great feeling, but being rewarded for that was an even greater surprise and pleasure for us. Recently we received a thank you letter from the New Zealand Red Cross and we would like to pass that letter onto you, thanking you for your support and generous donations.

Thank you for your help in supporting the Red Cross and a big thanks to the Red Cross as well for all their great work!

One person can make a whole lot of a difference, so having a great group of people who are willing to help can make even more of a difference!
